About Me

When I was little, I liked to draw pictures with words. When I grew up I discovered that I could put pictures with words and call it a career as a designer. Recently, I’ve fallen in love with being behind the lens and helping brides, grooms, couples and families form their own words when they see themselves in pictures.

I am inspired most by three little beauties that were given to me by my Creator, and I like to spend time with my high school sweetheart who gets to live his own dream, driving around our town in a big red fire truck.

    Gianna – Talent Headshot Session

Gianna was one sassy girl who photographed so easily and so beautifully. She had “ideas” from the get go of our session of how she should pose and where we should shoot. I love a little girl full of spunk, and Gianna was definitely that girl. I loved Mom’s selection of wardrobe (although I have a feeling that Gianna had her say, too.) Below is a collection of my favorites from her session.

    T.J. – Talent Headshot Session

I had so many sessions last year for new or existing acting or modeling talent, I'm hoping to get caught up and showcase them here on the blog daily for the next week or two while I get all caught up!

T.J. was a blast — his personality definitely shined through on his photographs. We met in Cincinnati’s Sawyer Point Park and had fun exploring and coming up with different looks for his selection of images. He had the sweetest smile, but can give the perfect serious face, seen below!

    Pablo – Katalyst Modeling Talent

Part of my new plan for building business for the year is to blog more often. 2011 was such a gaining force year for me that I found myself editing more, and blogging less. I want this blog and website to become a place that is visited often, and referred to much. Most of my followers come here to look at photography and design ideas, and that is specifically what I hope to deliver on for 2012.

I photographed Pablo for his up and coming modeling career with Katalyst Talent. I loved the fact that Pablo brought his passions into his photos and wardrobe for his modeling shots; he also does deejaying and is an avid soccer player. Pablo is Peruvian, and I think he may just have grown up loving soccer just a little bit. I heart the last capture shown at  the botto mof this post that caught a glimpse of his love for the game in the setting sun. A classic shot.

Here are some of my favorites from our two sessions together in downtown Lebanon, Ohio and downtown Cincinnati, Ohio.

    Rowan – Katalyst portfolio shots

Rowan was the last of this awesome family to shoot for Katalyst Talent Agency. I'm not sure what I loved more about Rowan, the fact that she grabbed my hand and started an instant ease with me and the camera when I was shooting her little brother or the fact that those wild and beautiful curls reminded me of me when I was her age. What I learned from our time together is that she can stare into a camera lens and make the photographer go “Wow!” and that the story from Mom about the baby photographer for Tate saying that she should be in modeling was spot on. What a beauty she is.

I have to say this image set is one that I couldn’t be more proud of, enjoy. :)

    Riley — Katalyst portfolio shots

Riley is the 2nd of 3 siblings I shot for Katalyst Talent Agency. When we photographed Riley’s brother Tate the morning of his shoot, I met Riley through the backseat, playing on a video game. I felt instantly comfortable with that because that is generally what my 6-year-old is also doing most of the time. I was excited for Riley’s mom to have done some great shopping for Riley's age group and I loved the bold graphic screen print tee of the tiger in the glasses. It was perfect for the shoot. I also loved how Riley perked up at the end of the session when we pulled out his hockey stick and got him to do some things he thought was fun. Always a great way to end a session!

Here are my favorites of Riley during our time shooting together.
